About Coffee Stain Studios 

Coffee Stain Studios is the biggest development team under the Coffee Stain brand and it's where it all started back in 2010. For the last five years we've been developing Satisfactory. The game has been quite the success in Early Access but there are still things we want to add and finalize before the final release.    

Micromanaging is not our style, so everyone needs to take responsibility over their own work. We want everyone to feel like they’re contributing to the end product and thrive towards always becoming better at what they do.

The Role

As a sound designer at CSS you will use your technical and creative skills to their fullest, helping define the path while also incorporating the interactive audio on current and oncoming projects. Together with the team you are expected to create, implement and maintain the audio pipeline for our games, from sound design to implementation. Bridging the gap between creative sound design and technical implementation challenges. You have a broad knowledge of working with audio in game engines and middlewares such as WWise, while working closely with other disciplines on the team.

These are things you’ll do on the job

Establish a guiding principle and ensure the sound design quality relevant for the project at hand.

Creating sound effects using pre-recorded material or synthesis, recording, foley recording etc.

Define and structure the organization of all audio related content, together with setting up suitable workflows.

Being able to identify and provide technical choices that are relevant for the vision of the game.

Setting up and implementing audio in the game, working with UE5 and WWise.

Being able to communicate, discuss and envision the game audio together with the rest of the team.

Be in charge of the final game audio, from sound design to implementation and mixing.

These are things your CV already contains

Accomplished sound designer with working experince within the video game industry.

Proficient in recording, integrating and mixing audio in a video game environment.

Superb sound design skills in regard to both technical and creative solutions.

A great understanding and knowledge in video game implementation in regards to audio.

Experience working in established game engines and middlewares from sound design to implementation (such as Unreal Engine 5 and WWise).

You are team player that holds a high standard for both your own and the teams work.

Practical info  

The position is permanent, full-time, 40 hours per week on-site. 

You will spend the majority of your worktime at our office on Hertig Johans gata in Skövde. At our office we have a casual workplace environment including bicycle parking, our own amazing in-office gym, game and chill-out zones. There are also plenty in-office hangouts and parties.  

You’ll be working with a friendly team that consists of both Swedish and International people. We get plenty of self-development opportunities – tutorials, creative time, participation in various industry conferences and events.  

Our office is constantly supplied with breakfasts, snacks, fruits, tea and coffee to keep your energy up.  

Coffee Stain Studios is part of a family of several studios, creating a network of over a hundred talented game creators. We talk, throw parties, and support each other professionally. We like the combination of being a relatively small team in our studio combined with the gain belonging to a big, warm community, being able to share invaluable knowledge and experiences with our colleagues.
